About Us

Hydrangea Co was born in my kitchen- from a love of whimsy, a touch of magic, and a deep desire for a slower, more intentional life.

What started as a creative outlet grew into something much bigger: a way to stay present, playful, and fully in the moment—especially for the little ones (who are no longer all that little) that inspired it all. Building this business meant choosing freedom, creativity, and purpose, and weaving those values into every piece we make.

We create handmade clay jewelry that feels joyful, earthy, whimsical, and just a little bit magical. Whether you’re designing your own piece or picking out something ready-made, every creation is meant to feel personal, expressive, and full of heart. Quality matters deeply to us. While many makers say their jewelry is hypoallergenic, we go further. Our components are free of nickel, lead, iron, and cadmium—the four metals responsible for nearly 98% of all metal allergies. So when we promise no itchy ears, we truly mean it.

Comfort, safety, and beauty should always go hand in hand. Hydrangea Co is for the dreamers, the magic-lovers, the earthy souls, and anyone who believes jewelry should spark a feeling in your soul. It expresses who we are. Little glimpses of the deepest parts of us. Each piece is handmade with so much love, rooted in gratitude, and created to bring a little whimsy into your everyday moments.

How long until my order ships?

Most orders ship within 7-10 business days, via USPS. If your order contains Made-To-Order or Preorder items, those typically ship in 10-15 business days. I do not work on the weekends. IF your order will take longer to ship- I will contact you. Please remember, everything is made by hand, and processing your order takes time. Once your order is prepared for shipment, you will receive an email with tracking information. Please remember that it can take up to 72 hours for tracking information to show/update on the USPS website.

If you chose a faster shipping option, please remember that the faster option applies to the SHIPPING TIME only. My normal processing time always applies.

 

What is your return/cancellation policy?

I do not accept returns for sanitary reasons, therefore exchanges are not available. All items are handmade, and therefore imperfections are inevitable. No two pair of earrings will look exactly the same.

If you wish to cancel, orders must be cancelled within one business day. You can email me at sweethydrangeasclay@gmail.com to cancel your order.

If your package is returned to me, or needs to be re-shipped for any reason, you will be responsible for reshipment fees.

Earrings are final sale. If your earrings arrive damaged, or break within one week of purchase we will replace them (depending on the style of earring) or refund you the price of the earrings. As tempting as it may be to bend your earrings to see the flexibility, PLEASE DON’T! Polymer clay is strong, but not indestructible. Hydrangea Co does not offer refunds for any reason other than severe product defect. Please email me with details and pictures if you feel this is the case.

Lost Packages:

Once a package leaves my hands, I have no control over what happens to it. If your package is lost in the mail, or is marked "delivered" but you can't find it- please contact your local post office. Packages are automatically insured up to $50, but that claim will need to be filed with the post office directly.

 

Why should I buy polymer clay earrings?

Polymer clay, once baked and cured correctly, is extremely lightweight and flexible. You can wear large statement earrings, and not even feel them! Most pairs of my earrings weigh less than an ounce (total, both earrings!). Also, polymer clay earrings are strong and durable, and won't lose their shape or color.

 

 How do I care for my earrings?

Our polymer clay earrings are fade and water resistant and should last for a long time with proper care.

Here are some tips:

• Avoid wearing the earrings when applying perfume, deodorant and hairspray. 
• Remove your earrings when showering or going into the pool/water
• Avoid dropping your earrings as the small parts may break
• When not in use, store your polymer clay earrings in a container to avoid scratches
• While polymer clay earrings are strong, the thinner parts (for example, flowers or other details that extrude off the surface) can break if not handled with care. Rough handling may result in any part of the earring breaking, so be sure to always treat your earrings softly.

With prolonged use, make-up may stain the earrings and dust may be found on their surface. To clean polymer clay earrings, use a piece of moist soft fabric and wipe gently to remove dirt and dust from the earrings. You can also rub coconut oil onto the earring, let sit for a couple minutes then buff off with a soft cloth. They'll look brand new! 

 Brass pieces may oxidize over time. To clean off any oxidation (dark spots), use Brasso or vinegar and wipe with a cloth.
